Oguaa Emintsimadze Palace · "Celebrating Royalty, Impact, Legacy & Culture"

The sixth edition honoured trailblazers across business, education, health, media, tourism, religion, sport and indigenous institutions. Selected honourees included:

• Ridge Royal Hotel — for initiating and sponsoring the Osabarimba Royal Awards over the years
• Asante Forkuo — most dedicated and longest-serving sports journalist in Cape Coast
• Thomas Vincent Cann (Media General, Central Region) — Most Outstanding Media Personality of the Year
• Hon. Nana Kweku Awuku Jnr. — longest-serving Assembly Member and Presiding Member, Asikafoanbatem/Antem Electoral Area
• Mrs. Charlotte Osei (Nana Ama Kesson), Nkum Ankobia Hema — for supporting the Esuekyir community and organising the Afahye Festival
• Primetime Limited & partners — for hosting the National Mathematics and Science Quiz in Cape Coast and promoting the city to the world

5th Edition — 2025

15th February 2025 · "Five Years of Excellence: Honouring Tradition, Celebrating Progress, Inspiring the Future of Oguaaman"

Marking five years of the scheme, the fifth edition honoured 50 individuals and businesses whose achievements represent the highest standards of excellence, dedication and service to the Cape Coast community.

4th Edition — 2024

Oguaa Emintsimadze Palace

The scheme continued to expand across more sectors of Oguaaman life, deepening its place on the traditional calendar of the Oguaa Traditional Area.

3rd Edition — 2023

21st January 2023 · "Our People, Our Resources, Our Business: Think Oguaa"

Some sixty awards were conferred across education, health, tourism, business and media. Notable honours included:

• Sir Sam Esson Jonah — for leadership in raising the flag of Cape Coast as Chancellor of the University of Cape Coast
• University Junior High School — Most Outstanding Private School, for consistent improvement over 20 years
• Citi TV / Citi FM — for introducing Cape Coast to the Ghanaian community through radio and television, and for the annual Heritage Caravan stop-over

2nd Edition — 2022

Oguaa Emintsimadze Palace

The second edition was the first to be organised at the Emintsimadze Palace as a royal durbar — and the first to enjoy great public participation, setting the pattern of open community celebration the awards have followed ever since.

Maiden Edition — 2021

January 2021 · Instituted in honour of Osabarimba Kwesi Atta II

The first Osabarimba Royal Awards were held amidst glitz and glamour. Honourees included:

• Cape Coast Teaching Hospital — adjudged the best healthcare provider in the Cape Coast Metropolis
• MTN Ghana, ABSA Bank and Ridge Royal Hotel — recognised for their support and impact on the progress of Oguaa
